“I travelled to Belfast specifically to do this tour and was in no way disappointed; it was everything I hoped for and more. We had signed up for a black cab as our mode of transport, and so were pleasantly surprised by the executive car that turned up. This was because no black cabs were available on the day and so the operator kindly provided a free upgrade so as not to let us down (exactly the kind of good customer service this operator is known for).
When people saw us getting in / out the car at stops, accompanied by our smartly suited driver, they were looking at us wondering if we were celebrities, which just added to the fun of the day. Our driver Mark, like his car, was a star. With loads of local and personal knowledge of the locality having grown up in the area and his ‘insider’ GOT knowledge and many interesting snippets relating to his executive car clients, combined with photo props in the car and adding GOT touches to photos he took and provided to us all as part of the service, being happy to take photos of us the many times we asked, to stopping for lunch when it suited us not him, to changing the order of visits to get the best of the weather, to making a point of getting ahead of the tour buses, to giving us tips as to the best way to do / see things at each site, and to taking us to places he personally knew of and thought would be good to see, he was great company for the day.
But I’m sure all drivers (acting as guides) provide an equally good service to their passengers, which is one of the many reasons this tour company gets such good reviews, added to the good customer service of the operator, I cannot speak highly enough of this attraction. This is a more expensive way to see these sites than on a tour bus, but you totally get your money’s worth; you wouldn’t get to see anywhere near as much on a coach tour because everything en masse would just take longer to do. Sign up quick because spaces are limited by the transport available and go have a fantastic day. We managed to get a slot because we went out of cruise ship season.
If you do the same, do wrap up warm in non summer months as you are quite exposed to the elements for most of the day and bad weather / being cold and wet would make this a much less enjoyable day. And just for any idiots out there, I’m going to recommend the obvious; wear sensible comfortable walking shoes.”
